Water of Body is a profound articulation of a vision experienced by Ezra on their father's property. Presented as a diptych their work maps the upper and lower body alongside corresponding chakras and natural elements. At the centre of this vision is a figure that functions as a self-portrait, serving as a conduit for themes of spiritual succession, ancestry, and sage wisdom. This painting draws particular inspiration from the Sumerian deity Enki, the patron of wisdom, craft, fresh water, magic, and creation. Interwoven into the composition are tributes to local waterways, including the Albert and Logan Rivers, the winding Brisbane River, Little Yabba Creek to the north, and Slack’s Creek to the south. The image acts as a meditation on the artist’s life and the journeys taken across sacred lands. It carries a powerful message regarding the need for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Māori, and culturally diverse communities to be freed and to lead, acknowledging the roles these communities have played in the artist's own path. Ultimately, Water of Body serves as an embodied prayer for collective action, envisioning a world where all life is honoured with intention every single day. dialogue between the fluidity of water and the permanence of human craft.
