TWISTED MURF
“Walking on Country at the site of this exhibition shaped the way this work came together. Spending time near the dam, I became aware of the steady presence of dragonflies moving across the water, their colours shifting with the light. Dragonflies are closely tied to water, and their entire life cycle depends on it. That connection became the starting point for this installation.”

Twisted Murf’s work for Aqua Limina, traces the life cycle of the dragonfly, from eggs to larvae, through to metamorphosis into a fully formed adult. Each stage is represented to reflect the natural cycles found in water itself; constant movement, change, and return. The sculptures are installed on flexible wire stands staked into the ground, allowing them to move gently with the environment. This movement echoes the fluid nature of water and life, both on a small, intimate scale and within larger natural systems. Through simple materials and a light-hearted approach, Twisted Murf’s work encourages people to slow down, smile, and reconnect with the natural world.
