We weave deep playful networks and activities attuned to nature, culture and beyond. The Centre provides dynamic opportunities for Gold Coast artists, audiences and others to interact with the breadth of contemporary art practice and nature-based activities.


We incubate a range of projects, events and nature-based experiences that enrich health and wellbeing.  Hand Bent Banana is a perfect venue to bend dynamic and transformative experiences that activate and expand the possibilities of culture and wellbeing in everyday life.

Our Play activities include:

  • local art and health projects/programs

  • workshops, public programs and demonstrations

  • art walks in nature

  • community engagement and consultation

  • arts and health and social prescribing

  • exhibition


Birds of South East Queensland 

A citizen science-art program funded by RADF*

Through inquiry-based learning, observation skills, and bird encounters children worked with emerging artist Tiarna Stevenson to share their observations and create a mural as a backdrop to the Ingleside State School outdoor learning room.
