I transform earthy clay into textured vessels that reflect both practical form and deeper meaning - where freshwater edges into salt, and urban boundaries soften into natural landscapes. My work grows from this in-between space: a tangible exploration of change, memory, and the unseen rhythms shaping our surroundings. Through each piece, I give form to these merging realms and invite viewers to feel that connection.  In The Pulse of Water, Creek to Coast, my ceramics offer a grounded, tactile response to the exhibitions living theme."

 

With works featured in several local exhibitions over the last couple of years, Nicola Brockett invites viewers to connect through the grounded, evolving rhythm of their ceramics. 

 

Through the medium of clay, layered glazes, and organic forms, Nicola listens to these shifting landscapes and the inherent balance they create. The surfaces and structures of her vessels are deeply influenced by the textures of mangroves, tidal pools, and the coastal environment. Ultimately, these pieces serve as a reflection of both the physical world and a personal connection to place, rhythm, and renewal.
