RACHEL CLARKIN
"Water soothes my soul. Watercolour becomes a ritual for boundaries and what makes me whole. Layer on layer at the end of each day, like a diary of what was, what is and come what may. The rivers run, contours appear, my soul is soothed, my mind is clear."
Rachel Clarkin is an Art Therapist and Community Arts and Health advocate. Combining art and psychotherapy, she initiates a therapeutic space for people explore their lived experiences, improve wellbeing, build on strengths and resources and achieve personal growth.
She uses various art modalities and techniques to facilitate self-expression and reflect on new perspectives while holding a space for connection and healing.

In the context of the exhibition Aqua Limina, her work serves as a tangible example of how art functions as self-expression, reflection - testing the liminal spaces of where the therapist ends and the artist begins. The pulse of water runs through her own life, providing the same grounding and renewal she seeks to facilitate for others.
